Romantic copper & blush nautical invitations

Elizabeth and Travis came to us looking for the perfect stationery to set the tone for their elegant, ocean-side soiree in historic Newport, RI.

A romantic palette of blush, copper and crisp navy combined with some classic roman fonts and flowing script came together beautifully in this nautical suite. We used color layering, a custom map envelope liner and a fun metallic twine wrap with a tag to give little pops of fun to this traditional design. The end result was luxe and stunning and gave guests a sweet taste of the seaside fun to come!

Lindsay & Evan’s Ethereal Camp Invitations

We are so excited to see Lindsay & Evan’s wedding featured on June Bug Weddings today! We had such a blast working with these guys last summer for their August nuptials. Kate Martin of Beautiful Days introduced us to the New York couple and Samantha and I immediately fell in love with the dreamy, ethereal wedding they were planning at Camp Takajo in Naples, Maine. Lindsay’s father owns the camp and Evan was a camper as a child. They didn’t know each other way back when but Lindsay’s dad introduced them as adults and from the beginning it was meant to be. It was a no brainer that they would be married under the pine trees in front of their closest friends and family at the camp they both call home.

For the invitation design, we used playful fonts and justified type to infuse playfulness and a neutral, dreamy color palette to balance it all out. Fun wording for the events and reply cards gave nod to the couple’s fun-loving personalities. All the cards were housed in a folio tied with twine and mailed in a metallic envelope lined with a gorgeous, soft-shimmer birch-tree liner. The effect was a charming bundle that evoked a sweet, ethereal vibe while still conveying the fun, casual atmosphere of summer camp.

For the wedding day, we had the pleasure of crafting some coordinating paper details that included a simple, lovely program and one of the more romantic pieces we’ve ever done. Both Lindsay & Evan wrote a list of reasons/things they love about one another along with a sincere note of thanks to their guests; the result was a love letter, of sorts, to each other and to everyone who has supported them along the way. We were all a little misty-eyed after reading this sweet piece.

It was such a blast working with such kind and considerate clients and their team of stellar vendors. Happy almost-one-year, Lindsay & Evan! Here’s to many, many more 🙂

Erica & Steve’s floral wedding invitations

It’s hard to believe it’s been almost a full year since Erica & Steve’s August nuptials! This Gus & Ruby custom invitation suite was so much fun to work on because it combined fun elements from two of my favorite suites:  the floral inspiration came from my own wedding invitations and the unique gatefold assembly from Elizabeth and David’s suite. We had custom flower illustrations all done by hand specifically for this suite so we that we could highlight the succulents, dahlias and garden roses that wedding planner extraordinaire, Kate Parker, was using throughout their wedding day decor. We love the mix of floral and geometric patterns along with their suite monogram. And who doesn’t love a great program fan for those hot Summer weddings?

As always, it was an absolute joy to work with Kate Parker Designs on this gorgeous wedding along with many other talented folks including Wild Orchid Baking Company and Sperry Tents Seacoast!

Spotted: Gus & Ruby client work on the Bella Figura blog

Happy Hot Friday, friends! It’s going to be a scorcher here in NH today; hope you all have keep-cool plans that include pools, beaches or double-features in the icy goodness of the movie theater. We’ll be keeping the AC blasting at the shop today, that’s for sure!

You all know that we adore working with the stellar folks at Bella Figura; so it should come as no surprise to you that it just tickles me to see our clients’ work featured on their fabulous blog. We’ve had the great pleasure of working with a huge number of clients to create beautiful, customized Bella Figura invitations. Check out a few of our favorites that have been featured on their blog over the last few months.

Some of them are truly custom designs inspired by the overall aesthetic of the Bella Figura albums:

While others are customizations of some of Bella’s 300+ original designs. Check out how we turned the sweet Simple Dot design below

Into a winter wedding save the date featuring silver foil “snowflakes.”

We used the Camilla design below:

To craft the summer stunner below. I just love how the abstract pattern of the Camilla became ocean waves once we added a custom illustration of the coast of Maine (complete with a sweet heart over the wedding location).

And this take on the gorgeous Harbor Beach design struck the perfect cord for this nautical wedding:

As we always tell our clients, the sky’s the limit as to how much we can customize these incredible designs to reflect your vision. It’s such a fun process!

That’s all for now, folks. Stay cool and hope to see your smiling faces in the shop over the weekend!
